Year 6’s new project!

04/02/2014

In year 6, we’ve been reading a cool, amazing, old book called Goodnight Mister Tom. It’s quiet a long book but we’ve whizzed through it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think that if you would rate this book, you would give it a full ten out of ten as it’s got loads of information about World War two. We’ve done loads of reviews on this book and we’ve also done loads of diary entry work on this book plus many other things. We are now on chapter ten and we are really enjoying it.

In the book called Goodnight Mister Tom we’ve been going deep into what the words in the bookΒ sometimes mean because the speech that is in the text are loads of old English as that’s where the books set in. Just in case you are wondering when this book is set , it’s set in World War two, so 1945, roughly. The book also has a film with it and we’ve watched a few minutes of it to help with our understanding of what the characters are like. It can have many upsetting parts because World War two was an extremely harshΒ environment. Many adults and children either die or suffer or lose limbs even when they are not involved directly with the fighting. It’s very upsetting but at least England isn’t at War anymore!!!!

For our project base learning, we are learning about War and Conflict plus a couple of other things to do with it. I personally enjoy learning about War because you learn about which Wars have took place in the country you live in.

Thank you for reading my review on year 6’s new project!
