Under the Sea fun in year 3!

19/09/2012

Year 3 have had a fantastic start to their new school and year group!

The first week was spent learning all about life under the sea. We watched under the sea clips, and used these to collect lots of vocabulary to write some super sentences.

“I loved watching bits of films and then writing my own sentences all about what is under the sea.” – Liam 3MH

The parents joined us in our open lessons to help create some amazing sealife settings in a shoebox, and then with these as fantastic inspiration we began to write our own descriptions of life under the sea.

“Writing about what it looks like, and what I might hear under the sea was really good and really fun. I used exciting words like glittering and sparkly.” – Mandeep

We enjoyed sharing the story “The Rainbow Fish”, we made under the sea fact files, and even created our own under the sea dance in PE! Year 3 produced some lovely pieces of work and have had a fun filled and very busy first week of term!

Making under the sea models with my friends was really good and fun and some parents even came to help us.” – Max

Keep up the super work Year 3!
